PARKINSON' S DISEASE
Parkinson' s disease (also known as PD, Parkinson's, or Parkinson disease) is a degenerative disorder of central nervous system, which mainly impairs the movements of the patient. It is characterized with symptoms of: loss of physical movement (akinesia) in extreme cases, or a slowing of physical movement (bradykinesia), muscle rigidity, tremor, and postural instability. People with PD are often seem to show little or no expression, have a soft and mumbling speech pattern, and do not show the normal arm-swing while walking.
PD is a not only a chronic disease, but it is also progressive. There is presently no cure for PD. However, medications and/or surgery are often able to relieve symptoms. Cells treatment is a new potential treatment for Parkinson' s disease.
